Damien has started his sixth season as the Head Golf Professional at Galloping Hill Golf Course. Damien is responsible for directing all golf operations including tournament operations, golf shop management, and guest services. Damien comes to us from New Jersey National where he was the First Assistant for five seasons. A native of Virginia, he moved to New Jersey to enhance an already growing golf career. Damien qualified and played in the 2012 Professional National Championship at Bayonet and Black Horse in Seaside, CA. He brings a great teaching background and expansive knowledge of course management and a passion and drive for junior golf.
Every golfer has strengths and limitations. In order for the instruction to be effective we have to make sure that we are taking into consideration their body type, personality, learning abilities, skill level and goals. My objective in teaching the game of golf is to help my students improve their skills and develop their abilities. The student will know and have an understanding of what will occur during the session and we will also be working on making sure the student knows exactly why the changes are being made and how they can fix them when they are practicing or playing.

Matt is a lifelong resident of Middlesex County and began his career as a Golf Professional at the Union County Golf Properties in 2011 working within all three facilities at different points: Galloping Hill Golf Course, Ashbrook Golf Course, and currently at The Learning Center.
Introduced to golf by his Uncle Ed as a child, Matt was soon chipping balls in the backyard and then hitting balls at a local park with an old wedge his uncle gave him. Matt never lost his interest in golf but only played his first round on a golf course after finishing college.
Matt is currently in the final stage of his PGA Professional apprenticeship and will soon become a Class A PGA Member.
He has a passion for the game of golf and all it has to offer. Beyond simply being a recreational activity, it has taught him many things that have helped him grow as a person and he is always eager to help others translate golf into more than just a game.
Matt works with juniors and adults giving instruction at The Learning Center. His teaching philosophy focuses on core principles that help students understand and apply methods that emphasize moving the club with their large muscles and limiting excess use of the hands and arms to promote consistency and effectiveness.
